Your LA Apostille — Done Right the First Time

An apostille is a government-issued certificate that authenticates a California document for legal use in another country. For anyone in Los Angeles County, that means a trip to the California Secretary of State's regional office in downtown LA — which usually means parking, waiting, and hoping every document is in the exact format the state accepts.

We remove that friction. Our team reviews each document, notarizes what needs notarizing, and personally hand-delivers your file to the LA Secretary of State office. You get a certified apostille without leaving your home or office.

    What We Handle

    • California Secretary of State apostille (Los Angeles regional office)
    • US Department of State authentication for federal documents
    • Birth, marriage, and death certificate apostilles

    • Corporate document apostille — articles, POA, bylaws
    • Diploma, transcript, and academic record apostille

    // FAQ

    LA Apostille Questions

Where do I get an apostille in Los Angeles?

California apostilles are issued by the Secretary of State. They operate a regional office in downtown Los Angeles that handles walk-in and courier submissions. Instead of taking a day off to wait in line, most LA residents use a service like ours — we hand-deliver, wait, and return your documents to you.

How long does an LA apostille take?

Standard turnaround at the LA Secretary of State office is typically 3–7 business days for hand-delivered documents. Expedited options are available. FBI apostilles that need to go through the US Department of State take longer — usually 2–4 weeks — but we can process both from one appointment.

How much does an apostille cost in Los Angeles?

The State of California charges a per-document filing fee. Our full-service apostille — including document review, notarization if needed, hand-delivery to the LA Secretary of State office, and return shipping — is a flat service fee on top of state fees. Call (562) 420-4692 for a quote based on your document count and country.

Do you notarize and apostille in the same visit?

Yes. This is one of the biggest reasons LA-area clients use us instead of splitting the work across a notary and a courier. We're a mobile notary and apostille service — one appointment, one point of contact, one document handed back complete.

    Which countries require an apostille?

All member countries of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention accept a California apostille — including Mexico, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, the Philippines, and most of Europe and Latin America. For non-Hague countries (UAE, China, Vietnam, Qatar, and others), we handle embassy legalization instead.

Can you apostille an FBI background check?

Yes. FBI Identity History Summary checks are federal documents, so they're apostilled by the US Department of State, not the California Secretary of State. We handle the full FBI channeler process — Live Scan or ink cards, results retrieval, and DoS apostille — all through our Long Beach office serving greater LA.

I was looking for ink fingerprinting services to complete requirements for a new job and stumbled upon American Health Biometrics through a google search-- and I am so glad I found them! Not only is the facility clean and modern, but it is also well-managed. The staff are warm, informative, and friendly. I had to do 18 ink fingerprint cards for my new job, and Arvin and Kate (supervisor) were both excellent in assisting me throughout the whole process. Arvin made me feel at ease and is such a very KIND soul-- 18 cards is a lot to do in one go and I thank you Arvin for your patience!! Same goes to Kate, who from the moment I called for an appointment provided amazing service and even sent out instructions on how to fill out the cards to make the visit easier and more efficient. Overall I recommend this facility for such outstanding service and professionalism 10/10!!

Can not say enough good things about this place. Went in for a live scan fingerprint for my job. They were friendly, fast, and efficient. I was in and out in 10 minutes. I highly recommend anyone to go here that needs a live scan service done.

One word: Amazing! Called in to see if they had walk in appointments and Kate on the phone informed me they do and to come over between 9-7 (great range of hours.) I walked in and gave them my ID and was finished in 5 minutes. They even printed out my livescan paperwork for free! 6/5 Stars!

I just got fingerprinted at this location and can’t say enough good things about it. The environment is incredibly professional and welcoming, and the staff is just the same. The process was smooth, with high-tech fingerprinting and easy payment processing. Keep in mind that by paying cash your fee will cost less. So happy it’s close to home! Thanks to the staff for taking care of me.
